What are the differences between a shunt, rotary and pivot motor?

The three types of motors used for clippers and trimmers are unique and are designed to perform best in different applications. Shunt motors run at a high stroke per minute. Rotary motors can be turned to run at nearly any stroke per minute. Pivot motors produce a higher torque.
