What motors work for which hair type?
For coarse curly hair, pivot motors are often preferred due to the higher torque they produce. Pivot motors also generally perform better on wet hair. Because rotary motors can be turned to run at nearly any stroke per minute, especially high stokes per minute, they are often used on clippers designed for high volume, heavy-duty use where bulk hair removal is required. Shunt motors run at a high strokes per minute and perform best on dry, medium-to fine-textured hair.
