Home / How to dilute your animal shampoo
As a professional dog groomer, you’ll know shampooing is an important part of the groom. So, here’s a simple process from Caroline Donoghue, Love Mud Dog Lady to help you improve your shampooing process.
Firstly, it’s essential to dilute your animal shampoo. All Wahl animal shampoos are designed with dilution in mind, they’re all concentrated mixes that require a 15:1 water to shampoo mix. This extends the number of washes from one bottle, saving you both time, and money.
The best way to dilute your shampoo is with a mixer bottle, these bottles will have both a water fill line and a shampoo fill line which tells you exactly how much product to add to get the perfect dilution for your clients.
Once you’ve diluted your shampoo, apply it to a clean, wet coat using a sponge or loofah.
Next, rub the shampoo into your client’s coat with your hands to ensure you don’t miss any areas that may be harder to reach with the loofah. Then rinse the shampoo thoroughly with lukewarm water.
By diluting your shampoo and using Wahl’s cruelty free animal shampoos you’ll get a gorgeous clean coat, and more out of the bottle.
